Toddler Color Hunt

One of my very favorite things to do with my daughter is to go on color hunts. It gets us out of the house for an hour or so and adds to her sensory and learning development.

First, I color each compartment of a used egg carton with a different color paint.

Then we walk around the neighborhood and find things that match each corresponding color to put inside.  Dandelions go inside the yellow, bark and small sticks go inside the brown and so on. She loves anything that involves being on a mission, and I love watching her get excited when she matches her colors correctly.

We had a pretty productive hunt this morning. All the colors were found and placed in the right spot, yay us!

We also made a kabob skewer into a leaf totem pole. Very exciting stuff.
