I’ve decided I need a Colorado Bucket List. Yes, I have a general life bucket list already, but there is no rule that you can't have two.
Visit Garden of the Gods
See a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater
Take a dip in Strawberry Park Hot Springs
Take a train ride through the Rockies
Walk through Cave of the Winds
Visit Great Sand Dunes National Park
Climb Longs Peak
Stay at the Stanley Hotel AKA: The Shining Hotel
Am I missing anything? Tell me in the comments if I am!
If you make it to the southwest corner, take the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge railroad during the fall. It's amazingly beautiful.( http://www.durangotrain.com/ ) My grandparents are from the outskirts of Durango and we used to go every year to Durango and the surrounding areas, like up to Silverton/Ouray and about 45 minutes away to Pagosa Springs. I would say go to a Denver Broncos game for an AFC West rivalry game and once take a drive through Wolf Creek Pass.
ReplyDeleteYou are missing something major. Brewery tours! There are more breweries in Fort Collins per capita that any other city in the US. And that is just Fort Collins, which doesn't include Boulder, and Longmont, and Golden who all also have kick ass breweries.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great list Krista! I have done all but two. I have not ascended Mt Elbert, or "stayed" in the Stanley Hotel, however I have been there! I am still so excited (by excited I of course mean jealous) that you are living in Colorado again. Take care to you, and your family!
